The Wait Is Over!!

I'm 21 weeks today. We had another ultrasound, but this time, we were successful! For those of you who are just as curious as we were, Kreat and I are expecting a baby boy in September!!!!! There was no question this time. Dr. Robbins started the ultrasound and when he moved it down to the baby's bottom, I blurted out "That's a boy!" I was right. It was pretty obvious. Kreat is super excited. I'm headed out to go shopping with my girlfriend Jill, because now I know what to buy! I'm really excited to coordinate the bedding with paint and decorations for the room. The only thing that I'm not looking forward to is negotiating a name with Kreat. For those of you who know him, he's not big on compromise...this should be fun.

I'm Dreamin' of Another Man...

Okay, so last night I went to bed, exhausted. I slept harder than I have for such a long time - it was wonderful. Yet I awakened in the middle of the night after another dream regarding the gender of my unborn child. These dreams are always very vivid. In last night's dream I was at my ultrasound appointment next week, but Kreat wasn't able to make it. I went, determined to find out the gender of this baby. In the dream my physician was performing the ultrasound and I was watching the monitor, but it was like I was looking at the baby in real life. And again, I dreamed that this baby is a boy. It was very clear and lifelike; strange. I am growing very convinced that I am having a boy. Hopefully we will know in a few days. That means we better dust off the ole list of boy names that we haven't touched in weeks and get down to business. I'm getting really excited.

Halfway There!

Today, I am 20 weeks along and 8.5 pounds heavier. I'm not so excited about the lbs, but I'll take it. Next Tuesday we go in for our ultrasound; I'll be sure to post more photos of our little guy (or girl).

The baby moves around a lot, I don't know what it's doing in there, but it's keeping very busy. The other day Kreat and I were on the couch, I was laying on my side watching tv and WHACK! The baby made a running start in what I think was an effort to escape; I had never felt it move like that before. It startled me and was kind of uncomfortable, so I scolded it and told it that I was going to count to three and that if it didn't stop hitting me I was going to have to come in there...I'm practicing my discipline techniques early.

We ordered nursery furniture, which was very exciting. Just the basics, since we don't know what color scheme to use yet - a crib, changing table and rocking chair with ottoman. I'm excited to see it and set it up, but I'll be more excited when I know what this child is so that I can paint the room and decorate!
